PKU Lophlex Powder

PKU Lophlex is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. PKU Lophlex is a nutritionally incomplete, phenylalanine free amino acid-based powder containing a balanced mix of essential and non-essential amino acids, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), vitamins, trace elements and some minerals. With sugar and sweetener. PKU Lophlex is for the dietary management of proven phenylketonuria in children over the age of 3 years and adults, including pregnant women (in conjunction with standard folic acid supplementation). PKU Lophlex is available in 30 x 28g sachets, in Neutral, Orange and Berries flavours.

Must be used under medical supervision. Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Not suitable for tube feeding. Only intended for use by individuals with phenylketonuria.

This product must be supplemented with natural protein, fluid and other nutrients in medically prescribed quantities to supply the phenylalanine and general nutrition requirements of the patient. Please monitor micronutrient intake to ensure that individual’s intakes are optimal. The product contains only trace amounts of sodium and chloride.

The recommended feed concentration is 28g powder (1 sachet) made up with 65ml water to give a final volume of approximately 80ml. The quantity and dilution of this product can be adapted to the tolerance and preferences of the individual under supervision of clinician or dietitian. To ensure tolerance, the product may initially need to be introduced at a lower concentration. The daily intake should be divided into equal portions and distributed throughout the day. Water or diluted drinks should be offered at the same time.

For enteral use only. ACBS approved, prescribable on form FP10 (GP10 in Scotland) for the following indications: For use in the dietary management of proven phenylketonuria in children (from 3 years onwards) and adults (includes use in pregnant women).

L-glutamine, L-lysine acetate, L-leucine, L-arginine, L-proline, L-tyrosine, glycine, dried glucose syrup, L-aspartic acid, L-valine, calcium hydrogen phosphate, L-isoleucine, L-alanine, L-serine, L-threonine, L-histidine, magnesium acetate, flavouring, L-cystine, choline bitartrate, L-tryptophan, oil from Crypthecodinium cohnii, stabiliser (E412), L-methionine, modified starch (E1450), potassium citrate, flavour enhancer (E330), taurine, calcium phosphate, sodium L-ascorbate, high oleic sunflower oil, inositol, potassium hydrogen phosphate, ferrous sulphate, L-carnitine, zinc sulphate, nicotinamide, DL-ɑ-tocopheryl acetate, artificial sweetener (sucralose), calcium D-pantothenate, copper sulphate, manganese sulphate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamin hydrochloride, riboflavin, retinyl acetate, folic acid, potassium iodide, sodium molybdate, D-biotin, sodium selenite, chromium chloride, phytomenadione, cholecalciferol, cyanocobalamin.

Best before date: see individual packaging.

Store in a cool, dry place. Once sachet is opened, use immediately.
