This year Nutricia is offering Healthcare Professionals the opportunity to apply for funding of up to £15,000 to support nutrition related for research into inborn errors of metabolism and medical ketogenic dietary therapy.
Eligible applications for funding include clinical trials, service evaluations, surveys or adults within paediatric or adult patient groups.
A variety of research project ideas will be considered, including but not limited to:
- A questionnaire to gather patient and parent experiences of transitioning from paediatric to adult services
- An audit on the dietetic management of adults with PKU returning to a Phenylalanine restricted diet, including patient outcomes such as Quality of Life
- A clinical trial on the efficacy of ketogenic dietary therapy in specific scenarios, such as brain injury, status epilepticus, or any other neurological condition.
