Cow & Gate nutriprem 2 Post-Discharge Powder

Cow & Gate nutriprem 2 post discharge formula is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for the dietary management of preterm and low birthweight infants post discharge. It is a nutrient-dense formulation, which has been developed to meet the increased nutritional needs of preterm and low birthweight infants prior to and once discharged from hospital. The post discharge formula is designed to bridge the nutritional gap between low birthweight and term infant formula. Cow & Gate nutriprem 2 post discharge formula has higher levels of nutrients than standard infant milks to support catch-up growth for preterm infants. It can be used for infants until 6 months corrected age. It is nutritionally complete and contains prebiotic oligosaccharides (GOS/FOS*) and milk fat, which are currently not contained in other post discharge formulas in the UK. It also contains long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPs), nucleotides, vitamins and minerals to help meet the requirements of preterm bottle-fed infants after hospital discharge. Cow & Gate nutriprem 2 post discharge formula powder is available in 800g tins. *Galacto-oligosaccharides/Fructo-oligosaccharides.

Breastfeeding is best for babies. Cow & Gate nutriprem 2 is a food for special medical purposes for the dietary management of preterm and low birthweight infants post discharge. Suitable for use as the sole source of nutrition for preterm and low birthweight infants until 6 months corrected age.

Breastfeeding Notice

Please read this important notice first

By clicking the continue button you’ll be able to find out about infant milks and other products. Breastfeeding is best and provides many benefits. It is important that, in preparation for and during breastfeeding, mothers eat a healthy, balanced diet. Combined breast and bottle feeding in the first weeks of life may reduce the supply of breast milk, and reversing the decision not to breastfeed is difficult. The social and financial implications of using an infant milk should be considered. Improper use of an infant milk or inappropriate foods or feeding methods may present a health hazard. If an infant milk is used, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use carefully – failure to follow the instructions may make an infant ill. Follow-on milk should only be used as part of a mixed diet and not as a breastmilk substitute before 6 months.

Foods for special medical purposes should only be used under medical supervision.
