Changes to Aptamil Organic formula milks from September 2021

From September 2021, there will be changes to both the packaging and formulations of Aptamil Organic formula milks. This page outlines the changes, answers frequently asked questions and provides resources to support transition conversations with parents if they have any concerns.

We will be changing Aptamil Organic formula milk products between September and December 2021. Please see a list of affected products below:

  • Aptamil Organic First Infant milk starter pack 420ml (6x70ml) and 800g suitable from birth
  • Aptamil Organic Follow On milk 800g suitable from 6 months of age
  • Aptamil Organic Toddler milk 800g suitable from 12th month

Other Aptamil products will not be affected at this stage however we will also be launching liquid variations of Aptamil Organic First Infant Milk in 200ml bottles, suitable from birth.

We are constantly reviewing our recipes and looking to make improvements. We are removing palm oil from the blend of oils we use in our recipe because we know that this is an important topic for many parents. There will also be changes to the amount of the amount of galacto-oligosaccharides and fructo-oligosaccharides (GOS:FOS), and minor changes to some vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.

Formula milks are one of the most strictly regulated and tested food products in the world, so we can assure you that both the current and soon-to-be reformulated Aptamil Organic formula milks have been developed by trusted scientists and are safe.

Parents may notice some small differences in smell, appearance or taste of the updated formulations and/or a difference in their child’s stool pattern. This is completely normal but if parents do present with concerns, do not hesitate to contact us and utilize our parent resources for safely transitioning between formula milks, understanding their child’s stool habits and correctly preparing formula milk. These resources can be downloaded from links towards the bottom of this page.

In order to distinguish between current and new formulations, we have included a dark blue rectangular text box at the top right of the new packaging indicating it’s the ‘updated formulation’.
